Van Roger Ingram zelf: (TH) There isn't any information on the 1600I on Jupiter's website for the simple reason that the horn isn't yet available. It will be available at Jupiter dealers worldwide by sometime in April this year, and I'm sure at that time it will be listed on http://JupiterXO.com and http://JupiterMusic.com. The specs of the new Jupiter XO series 1600I: it's a medium bore horn, medium weight (not too thin and not too heavy), the bell is 4 3/4 inches. The 1600I has a reverse tuning slide, and will be offered in brass lacquer and silver plate. The horn will list for under $2000 and I'm sure it can be purchased for considerably less than $1900 through Jupiter dealers. Every one of my students and colleagues who have tried the horn are surprised about how open this medium bored horn feels. As well, everyone has commented on the rich sound the new bell produces. En van iemand die ze mocht proberen: When I played the horn my first impression was it had that nice feel of support that you get from a medium bore horn, which was there from top to bottom, but it never got stuffy…. AND!…….(Drum Roll) there was a slot for high A (which we all know is the true test of any trumpet) As I was playing I just felt my sound was broader, but focused not blatty. VERY NICE HORN! I wouldn't say this is some radical new design, I would describe it as bringing the best of a Schilke S42, a Yamaha Z and an older Bach into one horn. Great quality, great sound! èn van de B&S Exquisite! 't Was me al opgevallen dat Jupiter ook trompetten met kleinere boring dan de gangbare 0,460' maakt. De pofessionele modellen die ik tot nu toe in m'n handen heb gehad waren in ieder geval qua constructie fenomenaal goed in elkaargezet. Hoe de M-bore instrumenten spelen weet ik niet, de enige chique Jupiter die ik heb geprobeerd was een ML maar die vond ik niet zo fijn; in vergelijking met m'n oude Bach 37 vond ik 'm erg stug, niet makkelijk spelen. Maar Charly Green daarentegen was toch een heel andere mening toegedaan. Wellicht hebben nog anderen alhier erop gespeeld en willen die hun ervaringen met ons delen? Wat doet de Vincent Bach MLV overigens in je rijtje? |

Misschien Theo, hoort de MLV inderdaad niet in dat rijtje thuis. Ik heb geruime tijd geleden het een en ander over de Vindabona gelezen en ik herinnerde me dat die ongeveer dezelfde bouwwijze heeft als de 8310Z., ook een soort stepbore van M naar ML. Maar dat wil inderdaad nog niet zeggen dat hij blaast als een M-bore trompet. |
