Het einde van Besson? 't Ziet er in elk geval niet goed uit. Ik heb ergens een gerucht gelezen dat een mogelijke kandidaat overnemer herstructureringen zou doorvoeren en de volledige productie naar Inda verhuizen (nu worden daar alleen de studie-instrumenten gemaakt) ======================= Besson, the brass instrument maker established in the 19th century by Gustave Auguste Besson, has gone into administration. The Watford-based company is one of a number of instrument making businesses sold by Boosey & Hawkes to The Music Group in a £33.2m buy-out backed by Rutland Partners in 2003. The company, which has supplied instruments to orchestral players, northern (!) brass bands and school children for generations, proved "too small a business competing with scale producers," according to Rutland Partners. In August, The Music Group successfully disposed of its Buffet Crampon clarinet business for E37m (£25m), following the earlier sales of Rico Holdings, its US musical accessories operation for $22m (£12.7m), along with its Hofner guitar and basses division and Winter instrument cases offshoot. Grant Thornton has been appointed administrators of the Besson business.
